How do women choose their darts?

There are many factors to consider for women when choosing their darts, but in general the same rules apply to players of any gender. As female players tend to be shorter in height they will often go for a lighter dart, but the same rule could also apply for a male player who is shorter.

For some of the top players in the world, the best darts for women are often a similar weight to the leading men’s players. Mikuru Suzuki and Lisa Ashton both opt for a 24g dart, the same weight used by the 2023 PDC world champion Michael Smith. Fallon Sherrock uses a 23g dart which matches the weight Damon Heta has for his darts.

These are Sherrock’s signature darts with ringed barrels and made of a premium 95% tungsten material. The dart has a torpedo shaped design is what the ‘Queen of the Palace’ uses in competitions. Sherrock rose to fame by becoming the first woman to beat a man in the PDC World Darts Championship in December 2019, before making more history as the first woman to hit a nine darter on TV in 2023.

The One80 Beau Greaves Black & Silver Darts also feature in this range and are one of the signature sets made for the two-time women’s world champion. The barrels feature a ring cut on the front of the barrel and a micro-cut on the rear with a ring cut in between, so it is easy to find the grip position on the dart. Greaves won the 2023 WDF Women’s World Championship to become the fifth multi-time women’s world champion in history.
