Why should I use 22g darts?

If you are currently throwing with heavier darts (24g and above) and find that your darts are flying through the air more indirect, like an arc lamp shape, then lighter darts 22g or below could be a more suitable option. A lighter dart will travel straighter during flight as you will be using less force to throw them.

Professional 22g darts

The most famous professional player who uses 22g darts is Dave Chisnall. The multi-time PDC major finalist plays with his signature Harrows Dave Chisnall 22g Darts in PDC tournaments. These darts are made of 90% tungsten and feature deep, square-cut grooves along the full length of the barrel. Chisnall’s darts have black titanium nitride coating on them, which adds extra texture to the barrel, giving him slightly more grip to help him feel more confident during matches.

The late Eric Bristow also opted for a 22g dart during his career which saw him win five BDO World Championship titles and become a legend of the game. Bristow’s range of steel tip darts from Legend Darts feature different materials and styles, including the Legend Eric Bristow Gold Darts.
